Governance must empower the electorate to remove sociopathic leaders and prevent such people from escalating nuclear arsenals and threatening our existence. We need to amend our democratic systems to ensure that criminals cannot rise to power and abuse it. Currently, nations such as the U.S. and even Israel, formerly platformed on democratic ideology, have transitioned toward an autocratic state, undermining true democracy, and leaving its citizens powerless against these criminal regimes. This issue must be addressed before meaningful discussions about reducing the nuclear threat can take place in those nations who present the greatest threat to world peace.
