The real heroes: we are the good guys.

Updated: 5 days ago

There are a lot of reasons in our contemporary times to be dismayed by what is happening; the dictators, the wars, the utter brutal disregard for lives as we see happening in Ukraine at the hands of Russia, the mass killing of Palestinians by a dictatorial Israeli regime, or even in the United States, a nation that once carried the torch of freedom and democracy, where one man and his decrepit party are threatening democracy and unilateral collaboration across the world - but I wish to remind everyone that despite these things, we should be proud to be citizens of Earth.

The vast majority of humanity are those who keep the world going every day; the teachers, the engineers who maintain the power and water grids, the doctors and medical personnel who save lives every day, the truck drivers who deliver our food and goods, the police who deal with the criminals so we do not have to - on and on, these are the true heroes - never in the spotlight but always quietly doing their part to make a better family, a better community, a better world.

While the apparatus of news does its best to focus most of its attention on bad news and the socially impaired element of our society, the positive and constructive things that keep our world moving are rarely showcased because they do not fit into the media-mentality of “sensationalist-driven-news”.

We, the social and constructive element of humanity, the majority, have a lot of work to do to eliminate the insanity and morph our social constructs into something which makes it impossible for dictators and sociopaths to gain traction in the future, and where the obese imbalance of wealth and resources in the hands of the few, will eventually find a social balance that benefits all.

Unfortunately, our social constructs, the democratic systems we built and support, have flaws in them, because they give too much power to leaders and not enough power to the people they represent to dismiss them or remove them from power when they abuse it as we see in the United States today, where one man is destroying a nation.

Political systems based on democracy and social democracy work - but they never work in the hands of sociopathic leadership because they counter the ambitions and goals of such toxic people - who must compromise and destroy such systems to stay in power.

Remember - we are the good guys. Every day we do our part to serve and make a better world for everyone.

Keep up the good fight. We are winning.
