Conceding to Hitler resulted in WWII

The definition of concede is to relinquish grudgingly or hesitantly as in conceding power (Merriam-Webster dictionary)

Before Britain and France declared war on Germany (3 September 1939), Hitler had already taken over Austria (1938), Czechoslovakia (1938–1939), the Memel territory from Lithuania (March 1939), and finally invaded Poland on 1 September 1939. It was the invasion of Poland that triggered Britain and France to declare war two days later.

For over a year, the world stood by and conceded to Hitler’s invasions of three countries and did nothing to stop him. This empowered the maniacal dictator to continue, casting the entire world into its worst global war.

The same will happen in the Ukraine theater if global leaders permit the concessions currently being proposed by the “peace” plan coming out of the Oval Office in the U.S. - a proposal that makes Ukraine bend the knee to Russia, forfeit a major part of its country and relinquish its right to join NATO which is the ONLY assurance that Russia will never step back into Ukraine again. Without that, and despite all the hypocritical assurances from Trump’s Administration that the great power of the U.S. will weigh in if Putin ever steps foot across the agreed upon borders, remains flatulent talk and false assurances.

Putin has repeatedly declared that Ukraine is NOT a country, that it was taken away from Russia. Conceding to his demands that Ukraine forfeit land and not join NATO is, to any one with a single brain cell, a clear message that in the near future, he intends to invade again and continue his assault into other countries which declared their independence from Russia (Estonia, Poland, Lithuania etc.).

Moreover, when Trump is out of office, which of course could be another six years because he will probably illegally and criminally dismiss the Constitution which only permits two terms for any sitting President, his successor will not stay true to “protecting the Ukraine” if it means going up against Russia - again, a poor attempt at selling a suicidal “peace” plan.

It is a terrible thing to say that Ukraine should not concede to these absurd concessions, because it means more war, more death, more suffering, but in the long run it means that Russia will ultimately fold, because as we speak Putin’s war machine is draining national coffers, it is driving poverty and civil problems internally - and it is only a matter of time before the mad man will have to pull back.

To concede to any peace plan that leaves Ukraine in the cold, with their right to join NATO left out of its clauses, is insanity, and as with Hitler, Putin will be back and the world will be cast into another war as he crosses more borders.

The only way to stop a bully is to STOP him - otherwise, you have to take the long road and hope you can avoid a confrontation and that is the road of the coward - and what Donald Trump and his Administration are proposing is just that - cowardly.
